We have an exciting opportunity within the department of Regional Purchasing Organization EMEAI in Dow Benelux. We are looking for a Sourcing Specialist to be located in Terneuzen, Netherlands.

The Sourcing Specialist is part of the Maintenance, Repair and Operations (MRO) Capital sourcing team, which manages the sourcing needs for Dow businesses and functions via category teams and on a project basis.

who you are

The Sourcing Specialist will actively engage and support clients in the businesses and functions to ensure that sourcing requirements are known, and that supplier quality and service levels meet expectations. This role also negotiates assigned specific equipment or services purchases for execution as purchase orders.

• Bachelors Degree (Business preferred or Engineering).
• 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
• Requires working knowledge and experience in own job discipline and broadens capabilities.
• Continues to build knowledge of the company, processes and customers. Performs a range of assignments related to job discipline.
• Uses prescribed guidelines or policies in analyzing situations. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
• Strong written and oral communications skills. Demonstrated analytical skills, ability to work with large amounts of data.
• Knowledge of SAP and Diamond Systems Reporting would be an advantage. Demonstrated skills in negotiation or influencing the decision making process.

what will you do

This role sources and manages a portfolio within the PCE area including Heat Exchangers, Vessels and other equipment. The role aims to improve Dow's cost position and supply security in the market through application of the strategic sourcing process.

• Manages a portfolio of products or services to improve Dow's cost position and supply security in the market through application of the strategic sourcing process.
• Utilizes business acumen and analytics to drive value from the market and influence stakeholders.
• Responsible for the negotiation, execution and implementation of commercial agreements and related work processes in accordance with the strategies within the commercial area and/or geography.
• Develops knowledge of the supply market and suppliers. Conducts Strategic Sourcing Projects including market analysis and the development of short and mid-term strategies.
• Works with functional and business partners to understand business requirements and align sourcing strategy and implementation plans.
• Negotiates pricing, payment and delivery terms on spot orders as well as period contracts and executes the agreements.
• Manage Supplier Relationships including the commercial relationship.
• Monitors supplier performance against key performance indicators.
