Recently, the Dow Logistics organization created this new Logistics Service Coordinator (LSC) Pool. This pool of Logistics Service Coordinators is critical to ensure operational stability. Therefore, we are looking for strong candidates that show high level of flexibility, ownership and assertiveness.

who you are

As a Logistics Service Coordinator within the pool you will be part of one or more Logistics teams. When there is a need for operational support, a Logistics Service Coordinator from this pool will be assigned for this job. Due to changing needs, this candidate can be shifted to another assignment for a different mode within a relatively short period of time. Hereby, you gain experience throughout the Logistics organization and you gain knowledge of different modes.

Furthermore, you have:

  • A MBO-4 or a Bachelor diploma or an Associate Degree
  • Experience in Logistics would be an advantage
  • An understanding of customer needs, team work and collaboration
  • Good communication skills
  • Knowledge of computer applications, such as Microsoft Excel and SAP

what will you do

The main task of a Logistics Service Coordinator is providing day-to-day logistics support and arranging transport and managing logistics issues. Next to that, we come across situations that require exception-management skills and a problem-solving mindset.

Another benefit of this position is that you work in a hybrid model. This means that you can combine working from home with working from the office. The expectation is that you will work 2 days per week from office and the other days from home.

Other tasks of the Logistics Service Coordinator are:

  • Following up on customer requirements to ensure on-time delivery and lowest cost-to-service product transportation to the final destination.
  • Monitoring Logistics Service Providers on performance.
  • Ensuring timely processing the administrative flow of the inbound and outbound process.
  • Being responsible for solving transactional failures and for the accuracy of logistics data and logistics changes.
  • Closing collaboration with Logistics Service Providers and taking appropriate action when it is needed.
  • Verifying if logistics capacity versus demands can be matched.
  • Managing non-standard orders, changes and exceptions requiring different transport arrangements.
  • Checking, approving and booking (additional) logistics costs in system timely.
