who you are

To fit in the Duty & Cash team, we need you to tick the following boxes:

  • MBO level education or equivalent by experience (Vocational/Specialized/Technical
  • Degree)
  • You speak fluently English. Knowledge of Italian/Spanish is an asset
  • You've got the best communication skills and pay attention to every detail
  • You know how to deal with large data files in Excel
  • You have 0-2 years of administrative experience, preferably in a similar position in an accounting environment

what will you do

So, what are your key tasks when working as a General Ledger Duty and Cash handling agent? First of all, you will develop a good understanding of the DHL Express duty and cash processes. Besides;

  • You perform daily cash reconciliation activities and follow up on open items pending on the cash accounts
  • You prepare the monthly duty and cash balance sheet accounts for one or more business partners, including open items follow up and risk management according to the general ledger guidelines
  • You perform interface reconciliations linked to the duty and cash processes
  • You prepare and process month-end closing activities like duty and cash related accruals and provisions according to the month-end closing schedule
  • You will think along about duty-cash process improvement initiatives
  • You develop, enhance, and maintain relationships with the business partners and other Finance stakeholders
  • You prepare reporting and analysis of the duty-cash accounts

where will you work

The DHL Maastricht location is DHL Express’ finance expertise center, from which high-quality and complex financial services are provided for the region and steered globally by the global process owners. The Shared Services Center offers employment to over 550 employees, with 40 nationalities, who speak 34 languages!

The Financial Accounting department is responsible for the general ledger (Record to Report) related activities for 14 DHL entities within Europe. The team consists of approx. 40 international finance professionals.
