The Analytical Science group in Terneuzen, The Netherlands, has an exciting and challenging opportunity for an Analytical Research Technician in the Formulated Systems Analysis.
For this position we are seeking a candidate who has excellent problem-solving skills and affinity with separation techniques and mass spectrometry.

who you are

A R&D/TS&D technician has strong focus on and commitment to safety.
Further qualifications are:

• A Bachelor (HLO) education in analytical chemistry or organic chemistry with a strong background in analytical characterization techniques (GC-MS).
• Self-driven personality and excellent interpersonal skills. The candidate must be keen to collaborate with internal clients to deliver effective solutions.
• Strong team player: local and global teamwork in an interdisciplinary environment is an important part of the job.
• Good computer skills and excellent verbal and written communication skills, including technical writing in English.
• Proficiency in English is preferred. Knowledge of Dutch is not mandatory, but willingness to learn Dutch is desired.

what will you do

In the role of Analytical Research Technician in the Formulated Systems group you will provide technical support in the preparation, execution and reporting of experimental analytical activities. You will work on studies in collaboration with research and technical development groups in Europe, USA and Asia. The primary focus of the job will be on technical problem-solving using GC-MS capabilities.
Further Key roles & Responsibilities:

• Safely executing analytical experiments with GC-MS, instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, new method application, and timely and high-quality reporting. The role has a "hands-on" component.
• Delivering, in close collaboration with other researchers, high-end, analytical expertise to support various manufacturing and research projects.
• Developing experimental plans and perform standard and non-routine tasks to support a wide range of innovative activities for various businessess.
• Collaborating with local and global researchers.
• The applicant will need to be capable or working on multiple projects in parallel.

The organization is critical to the success of many projects and activities in Dow ranging from innovative research for new product development and product/process improvements to resolving and avoiding production issues in manufacturing plants.
