Software Test Engineer (integrator)
Image Guided Therapy (IGT) is a new business group within Philips, spanning the interventional X-ray business, the recently acquired Volcano business and the Business Incubation group. The overall purpose of IGT is to create a clinical solutions business, changing the way Philips interacts with our customers and portfolio.
The Business Incubation group (BI) is a dedicated corporate venturing organization tasked to create new solutions for IGT, focusing on procedure innovation and new business model development in the cardio-vascular domain. Within BI, entrepreneurial multidisciplinary teams act as start-ups (ventures) in the larger corporation, tasked to build new businesses and acquire new skills whilst leveraging the competencies of the broader Philips organization. One such start-up is the Eclipse venture, creating novel solutions to navigate minimally-invasive devices. The Eclipse venture is based in Best, The Netherlands.
The Software Test Engineer will directly report to the R&D manager of the venture, who reports to the GM of the venture.
The Software Test Engineer is an essential role in the Eclipse venture, driving the testing of the venture’s data management and visualization software from idea to market in the context of the Eclipse solution -an integrated combination of navigation console and consumable devices that will impact the outcome and costs of minimally invasive international treatments.
You will be required to have deep expertise in software technology development and software product testing, while always having the customer at the top of your mind.
Accountable for definition and execution of the software test plan, participating in an in-house software development team led by the SW architect, resulting in released software (CE, FDA)
- Help to ensure that the team develops the SW according to the required specifications, with proper test software.
- Define, design and realize the test software for the Eclipse solution, in close collaboration with the SW architect and other SW team members.
- Assure compliance with regulatory and QMS requirements
- Understand your role and deliverables in the venture scope
- Translate user requirements into executable test cases
A test engineer that has:
- An ISTQB Foundation certification, any of the advanced levels (Advanced Test Analyst, Advanced Technical Test Analyst) is advantageous
- Relevant experience with the Philips Allura interventional X-ray system
- Experience in performing software integration and testing
- Experience in writing test cases and unit tests
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Preferably development experience in C#
- Structured approach to problem solving and testing
